We really love it here! We went to a week of camp in July at Bayview...where Joel was co dean and I played camp nurse and cook...fun times! We hosted VBS Avalanche Ranch at Leonardville in August which kept us busy. We celebrated our one year anniversary the following week in Moosehead Lake, Maine. All our programs started back up In September youth group, Adventure Club, choir/praise team, adult bible study, and young adults group. Needless to say the time has flown by but we really enjoy it! The Spencers share the load with us...and when we are not doing something chucrh related we are hanging out at each others houses...we are really glad they decided to come here too! I got my landed immigrant status the first of September which was really exciting but I am still unemployed at this point in time...my own choice. I am busy with church stuff right now and don't want to start into a new job as well. We got a new kitty in August...she is adorable but is a little terror when she wants to be! Here are a few pics to catch you up!

We Have No Time!

<img style="float:right; margin:0 0 10px 10px;cursor:pointer; cursor:hand;" src="http://3.bp.blogspot.com/_Ml05cCWozY8/RnXZXm4pXaI/AAAAAAAAABE/3gLOuPvQqDQ/s320/DSC00442.JPG" border="0" alt=""id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5077203154528460194" />
We have no time to blog due to moving so...here's a picture of us on our vacation this summer. His smile is because he gradauted...mine is because I got all the money!! For those of you who weren't there..when the bursaries were being handed out Joel received the Timothy Award from L'Etete Church of Christ which was for the amount of $1,000.00. As Joel was walking up to receive the award Fred Osborne (who was presenting the award) stepped right around Joel and came over and handed me the envelope! Everyone burst out laughing...meanwhile Joel brought over his other bursaries and gave them to me! :) I guess it was worth being married to a student! Don't worry I didn't keep it all to myself I split it with Joel since it was his money!! hahaha!! Well thanks to everyone who came to celebrate with us! Again, I am so proud of you, Joel and love you so much!!

Pink Or Blue?

Well there comes a time in ever husbands life when their wives need to buy something and if they do not buy that something their heads are going to burst.

This happened while we were in the Moncton Mall on the weekend. Kia just had to have a new camera, if she did not have this camera her head was going to burst.

Now on the other hand her other camera is broken and she did need a new one. But do they have to act like their heads are going to burst. So she did want to get the PINK Sony DSC-w55, but I had a sight problem with that. I do not want to be caught saying "Just push the button on the top of the Pink camera."

I don't like Pink.

So we comprised and got a blue. So my conclusion is that all girls are like the colour pink, they are a burst of Colour. Blue is a much calmer colour with no sudden burst or urges to buy stuff.

Joel

Now Presenting...

Do you know who these people are? We have been looking at this couch since before Christmas. It was going on sale on boxing day but we were in Maine for Christmas so we missed the sale and kicked ourselves in the butt for missing such a good deal! The other night we decided to go for a ride around town...then we decided we would pay a visit to our couch at The Brick. As we sat down and enjoyed the comfort of our couch(our microsuede...deep seated...recliner on each end comfy couch) the sign in front of us made our jaws drop...our couch was half price for one day only just like on boxing day!! We were so excited! We bought it the next day and it will be in our apartment by March 12th! A spur of the moment decision to go the the store and now we have our couch we have been waiting 4 months for :) So needless to say we would like to get rid of our old couch...so if anyone is interested....:)

Whats New In The New Year?

Well, we havent posted in forever. Christmas in Maine was a blast. It felt weird to finally be spending Christmas together instead of in two different countries. Joel got a palm pilot from me and I got a spa pedicure and Willow Tree Nativity from him. :) New Years didn't go over so well...I had to work over New Years since I had Christmas off....4 evening shifts in a row coming on the third shift I got to work and then came home an hour later with the flu. What a way to bring in the new year! I was so sick we couldnt even kiss at midnight!...lol....So things have been busy since then with Joel starting back to school and work for me. K.T. Norris Lectures are coming to a close tonight and Three Season Ant is playing for the youth night! I am so excited since its gonna be the last time we hear them sing together as a group...as of this month Three Season Ant is no more :( So we are going to party it up tonight! I leave for Maine tomorrow morning...by myself...little jab there for you honey... :) Clifford and I are going sleddin' all weekend ( sleddin'= snowmobiling/snowmachining/or whatever else you Canadians want to call it) LOL! Well gotta run...have a good weekend everybody!!

Our First Married Christmas!!

Well,Christmas day is fast approaching as we try and savour every moment of our first married holiday together. :) Joel just finished school last week and I have been working full time since I received my job on Unit 3 in November. So the last week or so we have been trying to get into the Christmas mood and spend some time together before we get bombared with family over the holidays. :P Here is a picture of our first Christmas tree...very small but if you have seen our apartment you would understand :) We love it!! Also, here's a pic of the outside of our apartment with all the pretty white Christmas lights! :)
Well, I think there is only one more thing to say in this blog....
Happy 21st Birthday Joel!! You can't tell by looking at the ground, because there is STILL green grass. You can't tell by looking at other people because EVERYONE is complaining about being busy and blah blah blah.

So today I have three sure fire ways to tell that the Christmas Season is around the corner. The first, anyone in College or University is up to their eyeballs in work and is hating every minute of it. The second, the Christmas parade was on Saturday and we told thousands of people to have a "Merry Christmas". (Ps - American Thanksgiving as well but we do not count that up here in God's Country.) The Third, is very simple...we plugged in the Christmas lights that have been hanging since last Christmas!!

So Let me be the first to wish you a ho ho ho and a

The Moment You've All Been Waiting For!

Presenting the new and improved.....Pink and Carey Hart!!
We had sooo much fun getting ready for the costume party at Central. Everybody had to look twice to figure out who we were when we walked in!
Well, if you want to know what started this whole idea of dressing up like Carey and Pink then.....we love to watch the show "Inked" on TLC. For those of you who dont know....Carey is part owner of the tattoo shop Hart and Huntington which is featured on Inked. Pink and Carey just got married in August...like us. So when we found the pink wig and the tattoo sleeves...these two celebs immediately came to mind.
Yes, thats my handy work on that shirt of Joel's...we threw that together about a half hour before the party....nothing like waiting to the last minute!

Pictures compliments of Samara Stockton :)

First Married Halloween!!

Well we had our first Halloween together as a married couple, we did not exactly spend it dressed up and handing out candy to all the eager kids knocking on our door.

Kia decided to work an evening shift so she was not home at all during the evening. So with her decision to work, I decided to spend my evening at the college working on a paper that is due in a couple weeks. So when I left the house I put a evil face on the door, and put these pumpkins on our door step to guard our apartment. Well maybe the evil face part was a lie but those are our pumpkins and they did guard our apartment.

But to create suspense within all those who read our blog, we did dress up for the The Rock Youth Group party and there will be pictures to follow soon!

Who ever can guess which pumpkin is Kia's and which one is mine will win a fabulous prize! This act is an easy part of the wedding ceremony...you just have to light the candle together at the same time and blow the separate candles out at the same time (for good effect) :) I "say" that it is "easy" but actually ended up pouring hot wax all over my hand and nearly screaming out loud! So thats the easy part....the hard part is when you have to implement this into every day life. Joel and I have been married for 45 days(according to theknot.com) and this has come up quite a bit. We used to live two separate lives even though we were dating our lives we still separate....I would go home to Maine or whatever as I wished and do MY thing...now its OUR thing. How weird is that? That is a hard concept for me to grasp sometimes. It is our life TOGETHER now and all our decisions and activities effect both of us. Who woulda thought that lighting that candle would bring on all of this!! LOL! Joel and I really enjoy being married and its a new adventure everyday as we continue to make our lives...ONE!

Thanks!!

I just wanted to take the time to thank all my bridesmaids that were such a support to me the week leading up to the wedding. Special thanks to AJ for booting it home to be there in time for rehersal after being gone ALL summer! Thanks to Tanya for making the trek from PEI to be here to help before the wedding. Halle and Marcia thanks for keeping me sane and being such a comfort to me when things got a little hairy scary. And to Jess who had everything under control when I know that I didnt!! And to Addison who was the best flower girl ever! I could always look to her for her beautiful smile and "calmness" when I was feeling a little stressed! Thanks to everyone who pitched in to make the day turn out awesome! I love you all sooo much!
P.S. This pic is one of my favorites of all of us. So not much moving in got accomplished until morning. I have come to the cnclusion that I HATE or LOATHE moving stuff into my already small apartment! Or as Joel and I refer to it "cozy" apartment. I guess I would much rather live here and move in the few things that Joel has into this apartment then to move and have to move all my massive stuff. We have already experienced the "smallness" or "coziness" today when I was getting out of the shower, we both were trying to sort laundry, and Joel just standing around looking like his normal self in our tiny bathroom :P Ahhhhhhhhhhh! I think I am beginning to become closterphobic!! Anyway, Joel is putting together HIS book self and I need to finish the laundry so back to reality until the next time I feel the need to blog my frustrations!! :)
-Kia

Where and What

Since I did not tell anyone where we were going on our honeymoon; now that it is all over, it is time to tell the world. After our beautiful wedding day we spent one night in a near by hotel before we made our way to Durham, New Hampshire.

Durham is a small little town about 25 minutes north of Hampton Beaches area. This let us explore tourist stuff all day, but in the evening make our way back to our small town location. Durham is also the location of the New Hampshire University; this little town is filled with history. Durham is minutes from Portsmouth or what I like to call it pots-mouth. Where some of the first settlers landed in 1623 to farm the tall trees, farm the land, and fish...I think... I wasn't really listening. :)

We stayed at the Three Chimney's Inn which had great food and all the extras you would want. So to say the least we had lots of fun. We went kayaking, touring of Strawberry Banke, a day at Hampton Beach, professional massages, and of course mini-putting...what vacation is complete with out min-putting?! Well thank you everyone for your curiosity and concern about where we honeymooning. :)

Only = Straight!!

Well on our way to our honeymoon destination I was desginated the "Navigator" or the "map reader person". Joel was so impressed that I could read a map. Meanwhile I am thinking to myself...I am a hunter for frigs sake did you think I just go out into the woods with no sense of direction?!? LOL! Back to the map reading or direction giving...we stopped in Bangor to eat lunch Sunday and when I tried to tell Joel what lane we were supposed to be in all I could get out was "only"....there were three lanes with the words "only" painted on them... Joel yelled "which one?!?" "Only" I yelled back. My rational was " If i said left or right then thats the way to turn if I said only that meant straight." We have no clue what I was thinking. Joel is at camp til Friday night and I am holding down the fort by myself. I cant believe that in less then a month we will be married!! I am so excited to go on our honeymoon and for those of you who dont know, I have no clue where we are going. Joel has planned the whole thing by himself and has done a good job of keeping it a secret. I am not allowed to use his laptop, I am not allowed to look through his wallet or papers. I enjoy not knowing but sometimes my curiousity is sometimes overwhelming. Curiousity may kill the cat if I dont watch myself :P haha!! I just have to keep reminding myself that I only have to wait 22 more days. And on that note, I am excited for the big day to come but on the other hand I am digging in my heels trying to savor every little moment of planning, emotions, and moments of "lasts" of single life. But time keeps pushing me forward and I try to enjoy the time as it slips by.
